Staff and Pre-School Committee
Director: Carrie McDonald recently joined the pre-school staff as director, but has served on the pre-school committee for several years as Parent Representative and Treasurer. Carrie has her BA in psychology with a behavior management emphasis and a minor in social work. She has worked with children and adults with disabilities for 15 years and is now looking forward to ministering to the pre-school children of Prosperity. Carrie has been a member of Prosperity Presbyterian Church for 6 years. Her 2 school age children went through the pre-school and she currently has her youngest in the program.
All teachers have completed a Preschool Phonemic Awareness Workshop at Cannon School and are first aid and CPR certified.
Readiness Class (3 days/week): Pati O’Connor has taught pre-school for 17 years and has training in pre-school development. She also served as director of a local pre-school. She earned her degree from Bryant and Straton as a dental assistant and has been trained as a crisis pregnancy counselor. She is the mother of 2 terrific sons and grandmother of 2 awesome grandchildren!
Readiness Class (4 days/week): Kris Guidry earned her degree in Aviation from Ohio State University. She has lived in Charlotte for 11 years with her husband and 3 wonderful school age children. Kris has taught at PPCP for 6 years. Kris’ youngest son also attended the pre-school.
Intermediate Class (3 days/week): Carol Toukmaji has been a teacher at the Preschool for 5 years. She is originally from Toronto, Canada. Carol is a certified Paralegal and works p/t for a law firm in addition to teaching at the preschool. Carol has 2 daughters (8 & 6) who both attended Prosperity Preschool.
Intermediate Class (4 days/week): Christina Barth has been a teacher at PPCP for nearly 3 years. She has been married for 22 years and has 3 daughters; 2 of which are in college and her youngest is a 1st grader. Chris’ youngest attended Prosperity Preschool as well. Chris was born and raised in Rochester, NY and has lived in many places; her last move before coming to Charlotte was Columbus, OH in 2006. Chris has been a member of the PTA , she has taught religious education, been a Girl Scout Leader and Room Parent.
Aide: Carol Kline has lived in Charlotte for 13 years. She has been an aide for Prosperity pre-school for 11 years since her youngest attended pre-school here. She lives in Highland Creek with her husband, Scott and two children; Adrianna (17) and Dalton (15).
Aide: Isabelle Dontsop has just permanently joined our team. She has substituted for the school this past year. Isabelle has her BA in Sociology and Masters in Political Science. She has 3 sons, her middle who attended Prosperity Preschool and her youngest whom will join us next year!
